Northern Tier Mission HUB

“Serving God By Sharing Resources With Those In Need”

The United Church of Nelson is one of the sponsors of the HUB.  This is a unique ministry that not only helps those in need at the global level; it’s also looks for unique ways to help locally.

Globally (Connected to Mission Central – www.missioncentral.org):

When Disaster Strikes:  We put together Hygiene Kits and Cleaning Buckets for those who are going through pain and grief caused by a disaster, such as a flood, fire, or hurricane.

Mothers and their Newborn Babies:  We assemble Maternity Kits to be used in Africa in poor and remote areas where a hospital is not easily accessed so that infants can be born in a clean and sanitary environment.

Individuals Gaining Financial Independence:  We collect new and gently used shoes and provide them to developing nations for microentrepreneurs.  These individuals will fix and clean the shoes to sell.  This gives them a livelihood; a way to support themselves and their families with dignity.

Women Hurt By Others:  We collect new and gently used purses which are provided to ministries who mission it is to help women who have been abused.

Developing Nations:  We collect Medical Supplies for use in third world countries where supplies are limited.

Locally:

Students:  We provide Hygiene Kits to both the Williamson and CV School Cupboards.  These were established by students and their motto is:  Students helping students.

Medical Needs:  We collect medical supplies, used ink jets/toner cartridges for the Lane Foundation (www.lanefoundation.org) which helps people with medical needs in both Tioga and Potter Counties.

Local Organization:  We are pursuing an idea where we physically go to local ministries and non-profit originations to help them as they are helping people.  We look forward to these adventures.
